What’s in a word?
That’s the question I asked myself at the beginning of my journey. It’s the question that changed the direction of my life.
Words are amazing things. Like a touch of the divine, once read, they can inspire sorrow or hope, joy or anguish, trial and triumph. Through them, we express our heart, our passions, and our ideas. But what is a word?
A word is more than just a medium of communication, or a mere conveyor of thought. It is an art. A word is an entity, sculpted carefully, and placed amidst its comrades to invoke a never-ceasing supply of expression, feeling, and ethos.
What’s in a word? Within just one, not much. An expression. A quip. But in many words, assembled carefully, is something truly incredible. In this construct of words one can find the rarest treasure of all-

Meet the author
I’ve always loved storytelling. Some of my earliest memories are of joining my siblings in a story and exploring the vast worlds we would imagine together. While I haven’t always had a love of writing, I’ve spent my whole life with a passion for creating, a desire to bring into the ordinary something extraordinary. Eventually, I found that writing was the perfect medium through which I could create worlds and wonders that could uplift, inspire, and encourage others. Life can be dreary, I know that first hand. But sometimes, all it takes to come out of the dullness and drudgery of daily life is a spark. A spark of inspiration.
Carter J. Cada is a young author working towards publishing his first novel, ‘The Sword of Ba’din: The Other Promise’. His dream is to someday become a full-time author, and to encourage others to find their purpose through their passion for creating, whether it be art, writing, music, or influencing.
To his name, he has no degrees, no laurates, no honors, no mentions, and no commemorations. He is a simple man with a simple belief in a simple, yet undeniably powerful art. He lives in southeast Minnesota, where he enjoys hiking through the sprawling forests and hills.
